What it is
WIC provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, and for infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.
Benefits load onto a WIC Nutrition Card each month. Thanks in part to advocacy by Gesher and Agudath Israel of Ohio, Ohio WIC now includes expanded kosher options — ask us what’s covered.
Staying enrolled
- Recertify every 6 months.
- After a baby is born, the local WIC office needs to see the infant, a crib card or birth letter, proof of income and address, and your WIC Nutrition Card.
How Gesher helps
We handle the paperwork for first-time enrollment and recertifications, and coordinate with the local WIC clinic (14055 Cedar Road, South Euclid) so appointments actually stick.
