What it is
Lifeline is a federal government program where qualified individuals can obtain a free cell phone with free monthly minutes, available to Ohio residents. Discounted home internet service is also available through participating providers.
Choosing a provider
Ohio residents have a number of Lifeline providers to choose from. It pays to call several and compare:
- What type of phone do they offer?
- Are there texting charges?
- Do unused minutes roll over?
The plans differ slightly, and you’re allowed to pick the one that fits your life best.
How Gesher helps
We’ll confirm you qualify (most people receiving SNAP or Medicaid automatically do), help you choose a provider, and complete the enrollment with you.
